white pigmented multi-ply, black walnut, nine inch acrylic disk, black-oxide bolts+nuts+washers, water-based clear-coat poly finish
Continuing exploration of the "[dot]multi-ply" concept yields this charmingly beautiful and ultra useful mid-sized tea table.
Again, the top is simple and durable white colored multi-ply, squared off, an inch thick_designated utility for the business that goes on above. In a fit of whimsy, however, the corner is pierced by a nine-inch porthole of inch-thick solid clear acrylic. A view of what's secretly happenening underneath.
The legs are strong and straight in air-dried Pennsylvania Black Walnut with a gentle turn inward at the ankle. And at the ankles, as usual, a flourish_socks and shoes of alternately set blocks of English Walnut.
This table truly disassembles to pack flat: the top is set with tenons in deep friction mortises along the rails which are joined by mortise and tenon to the upside-down-U-shaped leg assemblies. Pull the square wooden pegs and the whole table slides apart to lay flat in a mere 4 inches of space.
A protective water-based clear coat finish highlights the natural colors of the walnut and keeps the true white multi-ply top white.
Great for modern formal tea and cards, its' low-to-the-floor aesthetic makes this tea table equally suited to the well feng shui'd work space or even the childrens' playroom.
